The Louisiana Office of Facility Planning and Control contracted C.E.C., Inc. to repair and demolish buildings at the Ostrica Locks in Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana after sustaining heavy damage from Hurricane Katrina.
Essential to the Ostrica Locks daily operations, the project maintained a tight deadline and necessity for durable construction materials. The scope of work demanded constructing buildings that would withstand extreme weather events on a regular basis.
This was accomplished by building pile-supported elevated structures able to withstand floodwaters and high wind loads.
