Acting as a subcontractor, C.E.C., Inc. (C.E.C.) was hired by the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development project to rehabilitate the LA 70 Sunshine Bridge over the Mississippi River in St. James Parish, Louisiana.
Work performed on the Sunshine Bridge by C.E.C. includes:
- Steel truss strengthening
- Removal of the existing grid deck
- Concrete deck
- Steel stringers
C.E.C. also oversaw the installation of new steel stringers on the truss spans. In order to perform this project, C.E.C. developed a gantry crane system for the lift and removal of the existing road deck.
After strengthening the floor beams, C.E.C. erected new steel stringers to allow for the installation of the new road deck on the Sunshine Bridge.
